A Christmas raffle arranged by Carefound Home Care has raised money in aid of Wetherby in Support of the Elderly (WiSE).

WiSE is a local charity which aims to improve the quality of life for the over sixties in Wetherby and surrounding villages by providing community based activities, information, help and support.

To support the work they do, the team from Carefound Home Care spent the run up to Christmas gathering prizes donated by staff, clients, families and friends.

This included a whole range of gifts such as chocolate, perfumes, scented candles and even food hampers.

The team sold raffle tickets locally with winners picked in time for New Year and all funds raised going direct to WiSE.

Carol Giblin, Community and HR Coordinator at Carefound Home Care, said: “We are extremely grateful to everybody who contributed prizes and purchased tickets for this Christmas fundraiser.

“Working with local community groups like WiSE is a key part of our efforts to enable elderly people to continue to enjoy independent living in their own homes and, as ever, it was great to have the opportunity to support their service.”

Neil Bellamy, Project Manager of WiSE, said: “We are very grateful to Carefound Home Care for their time and efforts to raise funds for WiSE.

“As a charity we appreciate their support and it is important we work closely with organisations to support people over 60.”
