Tadcaster Carnival Committee members recently delivered a cheque for £3,000 from this year’s event to Martin House Children’s Hospice.
The hospice and carnival worked jointly on this summer’s event with the Clifford-based facility providing manpower for the Carnival entrance and help with the performing artists.
Carnival Chairman Nick Brown said: “For the first time since the Carnival was revived in 2012, we have been able to make a significant donation to a very worthy local cause.
“We have struck up a fantastic relationship with the good people at Martin House and look forward to supporting them in the future in a range of events.
“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the local businesses and Tadcaster people who helped us make the day such a success.”
Sarah Tarpey of Martin House said: “We would like to thank Tadcaster and Tadcaster Carnival from the bottom of our hearts.”
She added that they will be working on Tadcaster Carnival on July 19, 2015.
