Calendar boys in the buff for charity

Men folk of Bishop Monkton have cast off their clothes to pose in a calendar to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

In the Buff has been created by Hannah Duffield following the recent death of family friend Robin Peters to cancer.

Hannah, who is a staff nurse at Harrogate District Hospital, wanted to re-create the classic film Calendar Girls but with the village’s male residents.

“The calendar is using some of Bishop Monkton’s iconic locations, such as the two pubs The Lamb and Flag and Masons Arms, cricket pitch, lock by the river and the very famous cockerel,” said Hannah.

“Many of the calendar’s starring models have been affected with issues surrounding cancer, from losing loved ones to beating the disease themselves.

“This, therefore, encouraged the models to strip for cancer.”

The models include Bomber Duffield, Tommy Hartley, Neil Armstrong and many more familiar faces.

Anyone interested in getting their hands on a Bishop Monkton In The Buff charity calendar can join Hannah and her “Buffs” on Sunday November 27 at 6pm in the Lamb and Flag, Bishop Monkton for the launch.

The models will be attending in person for anyone interested in having their calendars signed.

Calendars will be on sale in both pubs and other locations. All profits to Macmillan Cancer Support.
