Marketing professionals and SME business owners will have the opportunity to pick up a wealth of social media skills and information at a free one-day event next week.
The Big Social Media Show, on Wednesday, June 10, will feature a series of seminars covering all aspects of online marketing and is open to anyone who wants to discover how they might be able to incorporate social media into their own business.
The event, which is organised by the Superfast North Yorkshire business support team, also aims to dispel any myths attached to using social media tools and techniques for business.
Event organiser Amanda Rowan, said: “It’s often easier to continue working in the way we have always worked rather than embrace change, especially a change that is continually developing, but the world of Twitter, LinkedIn and the online blog is with us to stay and, harnessed correctly, can be hugely beneficial to the small business.
“Our aim is therefore to introduce some of these concepts and tools to local businesses in a supportive and relaxing environment where companies are able to share experiences and best practice with each other and go away enthused about the world of social media for business.”
The event will be the last Big Social Media Show in North Yorkshire; the first was held in York in 2014 and attended by over 120 local businesses. The business support programme has been running in the region since January 2013, and is due to come to a close at the end of this month.
Eligible companies and sole traders who are trading predominently business-to-business can register for a place at this event, which will include a series of short, punchy seminars led by industry experts on topics ranging from Using Twitter for Business to Advanced LinkedIn.
Tips and tricks in the use of Online Video as well as Successful Blogging are also on the agenda. Delegates will be able to choose which seminars they attend on the day.
The Big Social Media Show takes place between 9.30am and 4.30pm on Wednesday, June 10, at The Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate.
To apply for a place, or to find out more about it, companies should call the Superfast team on 0845 002 0021 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org. Eligibility criteria apply, as it is an ERDF-funded event.
