The new partner at solicitors Eccles Heddon LLP is maintaining a family connection to the firm.
Carol Wood’s late grandfather, John William Heddon, co-founded the business - then known as Heddon & Brayshay - in 1937, and her late father, Pat Heddon, was a senior partner until his retirement in 1991.
“I am honoured and delighted to accept the appointment,” said Carol, who heads the residential conveyancing department at Eccles Heddon’s Ripon office.
“As the firm celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, it comes at a poignant time for me and my family.”
Carol joined the firm’s Bedale office as a paralegal in 1998. She trained to become a legal executive at the Ripon office, qualifying in June 2003.
Partner Nick White added: “We are delighted that Carol has joined the partnership. Her contribution to Eccles Heddon and the way in which she represents the firm leaves us in no doubt that her appointment will be another positive development.”
