A debut range of skincare products has been launched by a Harrogate man and his business partner.
Tom Walkden and Stacey Irving founded Ultimate Body Care Ltd in 2011 with the aim of introducing the next generation of skincare products to the market.
From their base on Princes Street in Harrogate, Tom and Stacey are targeting their brand at the premium market. The new range, called Body Armour Skincare, is aimed at both men and women and has been designed, developed and manufactured in the UK.
“As a company, this is something we are very passionate about as, not only do we think it is important to help the British economy, but it is a factor that is becoming increasingly more popular with consumers in their purchasing decisions,” said Tom, 25, a former pupil of St Peters Primary in Harrogate and King James’s School in Knaresborough.
Tom and Stacey met on the same course at university. Stacey, 29, who is technical director of the company, said: “Tom encouraged me to develop a brand that was targeted for both men and women as he was very aware that men are becoming more and more interested in skincare products.”
Tom has worked in both the retail and property sectors, and will be driving the sales and marketing side of the business. Cosmetic scientist Stacey, who lives in Ilkley, has experience within the industry working for large organisations such as Unilever and Reckitt Benkiser, as well as a UK health and beauty manufacturing company and a colour cosmetics company.
They are seeking stockists in the area for the new range, with products currently available online at www.bodyarmour skincare.co.uk and at Pink Elephant Studio, Montpellier Parade, Harrogate. Tom and Stacey will be showcasing their products at Pink Elephant this evening from 7.30pm.
