The President of the Wetherby Lions club has thanked the town for supporting this year’s Dickensian Christmas market and Santa sleigh run.

Among the stalls on offer was ‘Name the Reindeer’ stall, as well as two live reindeer, Santa’s Sleigh and Santa’s grotto, a Christmas hamper raffle, cuddly lions tombola, bacon butties, crepes by Le Bon Apetit, a vintage barrel organ, the Wetherby Silver Band, carols and Christmas songs from the Wetherby Musical Theatre Group and Deighton Gates Primary School, and a cakes and games stall operated by the Wetherby Sports Association.

Lion President Mike Earle said: “On behalf of Wetherby Lions, I’d like to thank the people of Wetherby, who have once again shown us great support during our two weeks of Santa’s Sleigh Runs, and our Dickensian Market Day.”

The proceeds of the events go towards the costs of the Senior Citizens Party at Wetherby High School on Saturday, January 26. For tickets call Lion Colin Gaden on 01937 581652.
