A Ripon company has seen such a large increase in business since it was founded four years ago that it is to create a number of new positions.

Yorkshire Yurts, which is based at Aldfield, has already filled one post. Rosie Saunders, who has been employed as wedding, party and event coordinator, will handle the growing numbers of events, which are doubling annually.

She said: “I am thrilled to be working for such an innovative and exciting company and am looking forward to organising some really exciting events.”

Yorkshire Yurts supplies hand-crafted yurts to hire for events and weddings. The business has taken delivery of the largest yurt in Europe, which measures 50ft in diameter, and recently housed Opera North for a unique performance over the summer.

Founder Tom Sterne said: “With 70 events last year, nine of us were needed, plus a stylist to ensure that the yurts look perfect at every occasion. We are currently fielding so many calls about private hire that a full-time events co-ordinator is now essential and we are looking to recruit a new operations manager too.”

l Yorkshire Yurts will hold an open weekend from October 4-5, 12-4pm, at Yew Tree House, Aldfield, HG4 3BE.
