The recycling facilities to be offered by the new Sainsbury’s store will not be as unique as their display at the exhibition indicated last weekend, says Wetherby News’s Our Wetherby columnist Roger Bealey.

He says: “Similar recycling facilities for batteries and light bulbs have been offered by Bright Ideas in Wetherby for the last 18 months – as reported in Our Wetherby on ebruary 5, 2010.

“Since February 1, any shop selling more than a pack of batteries a day has been required to offer recycling facilities for portable batteries, but Bright Ideas, a local Wetherby shop went one step further and offered recycling for light bulbs as well – and indeed any small electrical appliances.”
