Boston Spa Arts Festival: it will be the fifth annual Boston Spa Arts Festival held at the Boston Spa Village Hall on Friday October 11 from 10am-5pm and Saturday October 12 from 10am-4pm. Included will be painting, collage, sculpure, photography, textiles and needlework, jewellery, glass, prints and printmaking, wooden toys and wood turning, gifts and cards. Entrance fee only 50p. There will be a tea room serving light refreshments. All proceeds will go to the Boston Spa Village Hall Renovation Fund. Jazz in the Spa: the session this Saturday, September 28 – Charlestown Jazz Band – Jazz in the Spa has a deserved reputation amongst Dutch jazz bands as one of the best audiences in the UK. A first appearance of the seven piece Charlestown Jazz Band from Nijmegen. Originally inspired by Bix Beiderbecke, the band now reflects the sounds of Chris Barber and the Dutch Swing College but with an infusion of R & B sounds including Louis Prima and Fats Domino. £10 Further info ring Les – 01937 842636.

Oxfam Break-fest: Boston Spa village hall on Sunday, September 29 from 10.30am-4pm. The event is called Break-fest and features food (all day breakfasts), music, stalls and drinks - entrance is free! We have an excellent headline band, The Duncan McFarlane Band, who headline at the Otley Folk Festival the weekend before, and also have some other excellent local musicians playing. Boston Spa Methodist Church: the services for this Sunday, September 29 – 10.30am Rev Susan Greenhart - Harvest Festival. All are welcome to join us at any of our Services and events, and for refreshments afterwards in the Wesley Room.

Kings Church: meet every Sunday at 11am and 6.30pm at the Deepdale Community Centre to include Sunday School for singing, quizzes and bible stories and lots of fun. Contact Pastor Stephen Thompson 01937 541688 for further information.

St Mary’s Church: our next service on Sunday, September 29 is 8am Holy Communion , 10am Holy Communion at St Mary’s Church, Boston Spa.

St Mary’s Ark: join us at St Mary’s Ark, St Mary’s Church every first and third Thursday of the month from 1.45-3pm (term time only) at St Mary’s Church, Boston Spa. This includes a short service for babies, toddlers, parents and carers. Including refreshments and activities. A warm welcome awaits you from the members of Mothers’ Union. Our next meeting will be today Thursday, October 3.

We want your garden!: on Sunday, July 13 2014 Boston Spa are having an open gardens day. If you would like to open your garden – you will not be alone, we have 8 volunteers so far. The Great Boston Bake Off: Tuesday, September 24 at Boston Spa Village Hall. Get your bowls, apron’s and spoons out and join us for the Great Boston Bake Off. All proceeds for this fun event will go to Martin House Children’s Hospice, with the cakes going to our cafe. categories inclued Chocolate based, Fruit based, Sponge based and you can enter more than one category. Noon-2pm receive entries at the WiSE Owl Cafe, 2.30pm judging commences – 3.30pm prize giving. First prize in each category is afternoon tea for two at the WiSE Owl Cafe and the overall winner will receive a bottle of champagne too. Our judges are Robin Wraith Chef at Martin House Children’s Hospice and Duncan Wood from Calendar TV. Entry Fee £4 and all proceeds go to Martin House. So come along and please no soggy bottoms!

The WiSE Owl Cafe: Boston Spa Village Hall (Jubilee Room). Every week we have delicious home-made soup, bacon sandwiches are new on the menu along with delicious freshly prepared scones which are proving very popular. Afternoon tea is another new tempting treat on the menu. The cafe provides a service to the community that goes beyond coffee and cake. It is a vibrant, friendly and safe place to meet and eat. We already have some regular customers taking advantage of our loyalty scheme. A warm welcome awaits!
