Primrose Lane Primary School PTA: are holding a band and disco night on Friday, May 3 at Boston Spa Village Hall. Performing will be popular local band Livetime, who recently played at Boston Spa Beer Festival. The evening will also feature a disco with Guest DJ Jeff Hordley, Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle. There will be a licensed bar. Tickets are £6, and are available from Douglas Yeadon Hardware in Boston Spa. Admission is by advanced ticket only, and tickets will not be available on the night. Doors open at 7.30pm. A night not to be missed.

Music evening: the last two events have been close to a full house so lets see if together we can fill the place. Our next evening is on Sunday, April 7 starting at 7.30pm finishing around 10pm. All proceeds are going to the Boston Spa Village Hall. Entrance is £3. It’s BYO drinks but glasses are provided free of charge. Boston Spa neighbourhood Police: your neighbourhood team is led by Inspector Paul Dwyd with Sergeants Christian Fletcher and Matt Appleyard. The local officers for Eastern villages are, PC Des Cassidy, PC Bill Hall, PCSO Steve Wales and PCSO Becky Jackson. We work in your village every day of the week and are just a phone call away if you need us. We are supported by 24-hour response team who operate day and night all year. Police contact point – PCSO’s Becky Jackson and Steve Wales have set up a police contact point in Boston Spa, this will be held every month at the village hall in Boston Spa alongside the WiSE Café. Why not come along and meet your PCSO’s discuss any issues you may have within the village or come along for advice on home security. Future dates: Tuesday, April 9, May 21, June 18, July 30, August 20, September 3, October 15, November 12, and December 17. Speeding – You said - speeding throughout the village is an issue. We did - Trained more Police Officers to use speed detection devices and increased our speed awareness operations throughout the village. Jazz in the Spa: the session this Saturday, April 6 – Trefor Williams and the Usual Suspects with Christine Tyrrell – here’s a blast from the past! In response to so many requests, Trefor has put together a showcase to remind us of the halcyon days of the Phil Mason Band. Denny Ilett on trumpet, Karl Hird on reeds, Mark Challinor on trombone, Baby Jools on drums and the redoubtable Christine on vocals. NB £10. Further info ring Les – 01937 842636

St Mary’s Church Sunday, April 7: our services are 8am Holy communion service at St Mary’s 10am Benefice All Age Worship with Holy Communion at Boston Spa.

St Mary’s Ark: join us at St Mary’s Ark, St Mary’s Church every first and third Thursday of the month from 1.45-3pm at St Mary’s Church, Boston Spa. This includes a short service for babies, toddlers, parents and carers. Including refreshments and activities. A warm welcome awaits you from the members of Mothers’ Union. The next meeting will be today April 18.

Lunchtime Concert: at Boston Spa Methodist Church: the next concert will be held on Friday, April 12 at 1pm. Tickets £4 at the door. Yet another new performer, Christopher Cipkin. Light lunches will be served in the Wesley room from noon. All are welcome.

The Terrace Lawn Tennis Club: our bridge afternoon on February 6 was well attended by members and friends in the vllage hall and the committee would like to thank all those who took part. Forthtell: invites you to a lecture and discussion on issues of the day. The next session is titled Japan Mission with David and Sue Vervey at the Boston Spa village hall on Saturday, April 13 from 2.30–4pm. All are welcome. There is no charge and there will be light refreshments and free literature. Forthell is an independent fellowship, not connected to any one church or organisation, seeking to pursue Bible truth, determine the Christian position on issues of the day, and at this time defend the sovereignty of the UK from the inroads of European Union and its euro.
