A PHOTOGRAPHIC exhibition showcasing a Yorkshire artist will open in Boston Spa this month.

The display is being organised by The Oasis School of Human Relations, based in Boston Spa, which runs development workshops.

The exhibition, which is called ‘Sunscapes and Seascapes’ displays photographs from a range of different landscapes and climates taken by Yorkshire-based photographer Helen Green.

Communications Officer at Oasis, Cathy Neligan, said she hoped the project would bring local residents to the workshop school.

“We are hoping to involve the local community of Boston Spa as much as possible, our clients often have very specific needs and come from all over, but we would like to showcase artwork by local talent, whether that is professional artists or students, as much as possible.”

Career coach and freelancer Helen Green, who has been working with the company for several years, said: “Photography has always been a hobby of mine and I have over the years developed a great enthusiasm for taking pictures of people and places. The pictures chosen for this exhibition all have an element of serendipity to them.

“The light of sun on water has always had a particular fascination for me. All the places where these pictures were taken have some personal significance to me, in that they are locations either at home or abroad where I was able in a fleeting moment to capture something beautiful.”

The open evening for the exhibition will be held on Thursday June 23 between 6-8pm at the Oasis School on Hall Mews, Clifford Road in Boston Spa. Entry is free.
