Boston Spa is gearing up for royal fun to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
And organisers say the action starts before the weekend in June.
An art competition - 60 Glorious Years - is being held in village primary schools and the finalists will have their work exhibited in the Village Hall from May 19.
There will be prizes for the winners and certificates for all finalists.
This event has been sponsored by The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Fund managed by Leeds Community Foundation.
A Film Show presented by the Yorkshire Film Archive, entitled 60 Years in Yorkshire, will be held in the Village Hall on Thursday, May 24.
Tickets are priced at £5 and include a glass of wine, and will be on sale at Yeadons from Easter.
On the weekend there will be a Village Picnic (June 4) on Stables Lane playing fields from 7pm.
People can take their own chairs and tables and a picnic or buy a ticket (in advance from Yeadons, from Easter) for a Firth butchers hog roast.
The tickets cost £5 per adult, with burgers for children at £2, bought with adult tickets. These will only be on sale until May 28 to give the butcher plenty of notice. There will also be an ice cream van on site.
The Parish Council is providing free entertainment with a jazz band, face painting for children and fireworks at 10.30pm.
A Punch and Judy Show, sponsored by Costcutter, will put on two performances during the evening.
A specially commissioned Boston Spa china mug is on sale (£5 with an option of a gift box at 50p) from Yeadons.
A Churches Together service will take place at St Mary’s at 6pm on Sunday, June 3.
