Coffee Morning: will be held tomorrow Saturday, May 21. Jacob Dunwell is holding a coffee morning fund-raiser for his World Challenge trip to Romania next year. The coffee morning is to be held outside 41 Holly Road, Boston Spa between 10-noon. There will be tea, coffee & cream scones along with raffle, tombola and a cake stall.
Deepdale Playground: further to residents concerns over the lack of fencing around the playground, I have been informed by Leeds City Council that this fence will now be installed in due course.

Celtic Healing Service: St Mary’s Church Sunday, May 29, at 4pm. This Service is a peaceful and contemplative time of prayer and gentle worship for anyone needing to receive God’s healing touch upon their life. A Summer Concert by the Valenzano Ensemble: Featuring international clarinettist Alan Hacker OBE at 7:30 on June 11 at St Luke’s Church Clifford. Presenting Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No 6 and the world première of David Martin’s Clarinet Concerto in the Baroque Style written specially for Alan Hacker. Boston Spa Gardening Society: our next meeting will be Wednesday, May 25. We meet at 7.15pm at Deepdale Community Centre. Refreshments and raffle at every meeting. This weeks topic is entitled ‘Old Dogs New Tricks – new ideas for Summer Planters’ by Nigel Hutchinson. Boston Spa Dog Show: (sponsored by the Dogs Trust) come and join our fabulous fun dog show tomorrow Saturday, May 21 at Deepdale Playing Fields from 12.30pm. There will be many different categories with additional fun and games for the whole family! Below is a list of the classes - you can either enter at Gifted this week or from midday on the ‘showground’ at Deepdale. Prettiest bitch! Most handsome dog! Waggiest tail! Best Child - handler! Dog that looks like his/ her owner!! The dog that the judges would most like to take home! Most obedient! Best condition and movement!, Goldie oldie over 12. Even if your not a dog lover come and have a cup of tea and piece of cake while the kids play on the playground! We would be very grateful for any contributions to the cake stall. Jazz in the Spa: Boston Spa village hall Saturday, May 21 - Ron Burnett’s Mardi Gras Jazz Band – renowned for stylish, good time music from the 20s to the 90s and led by York’s “Mr Music” – trombonist, jazz correspondent and all round good egg - Ron Burnett. Originally formed as the BBC Radio York Jazz Band, the line-up is Greg Wadman on trumpet, Geoff Patterson on reeds with Bob Smeaton – piano, Ray Cooper – bass and Trevor King – drums. The Foundation has been set up in order to provide opportunities for our students in 16+ to experience real life work experience placements outside of the school environment – making learning work. PACT (Partners and Communities Together): These are held in Boston Spa village hall at 7pm and the next ones are June 16, July 28, and September 8. These are for the villages of Walton, Thorp Arch, Boston Spa, Clifford and Bramham.
