Late night shopping: come and join an evening of Christmas fun with special stalls, shops open late and a special visit from Santa and Local schools and choirs to sing on the high street. Wednesday, December 11.

Boston Spa & Tadcaster Roundtable Santa on Tour 2013: Boston Spa & Tadcaster Roundtable, as in previous years are helping Santa out by taking him and his sleigh on a pre Christmas tour around the local villages over the next couple of weeks stopping off in Boston Spa on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8 between 4-8pm, and whilst Santa will be checking if all the children have been good little children over the past year and what they are hoping to receive for Christmas, Roundtable members will be joined again this year by members of Boston Spa Scouts shaking collection tins raising money to help fund a Christmas dinner for older people from Boston Spa and the surrounding villages and also helping the scouts raise funds towards the running of their group. Last year over £4500 was collected alongside Santa’s tour. Wilf Ward Family Trust Christmas fair: which is being held at Errol House 155, High Street, Boston Spa on Saturday, December 7 between 2-4pm. There will be a tombola, cake stall and raffle. Plus coffee, tea and mince pies. Errol House provides short breaks for people with learning disabilities and we are hoping to raise money for some games and specialist relaxation chairs for the people we support.

Jazz in the Spa: the session this Saturday, December 7 – Tees Valley Jazzmen – the annual visit of one of our longest serving guest bands renowned for having the first ever standing ovation in the halcyon days of the Crown Hotel. Always a rip roaring traditional session interspersed with Keith’s wry comments on life itself. Further info ring Les – 01937 842636.

Boston Spa Methodist Church: the services for this Sunday, December 8 – 10.30am Rev Susan Greenhart Holy Communion, 6pm Gift Service. Circuit Service - Christmas Play. All are welcome to join us at any of our Services and events, and for refreshments afterwards in the Wesley Room.

St Mary’s Church: our next service on Sunday, December 8 is 8am Holy Communion at Walton Church, 10am Holy Communion at St Mary’s. St Mary’s Ark every first and third Thursday of the month from 1.45-3pm (term time only) at St Mary’s Church, Boston Spa. This includes a short service for babies, toddlers, parents and carers. Saturday, December 14: 10.30-11.30am Max’s Victorian Organ Recital at St Mary’s Boston Spa.

Forthtell: invites you to a lecture and discussion on issues of the day. The next session is at the Boston Spa village hall on Saturday, December 14 from 2.30-4pm. The session is titled Knocking at Heaven’s Door by Iain McGregor. All are welcome. There is no charge and there will be light refreshments and free literature. Forthell is an independent fellowship, not connected to any one church or organisation, seeking to pursue Bible truth, determine the Christian position on issues of the day, and at this time defend the sovereignty of the UK from the inroads of European Union and its euro.
