Bardsey Horticultural Society plant sale: do you need to replace favourite plants lost during the winter or have gaps in your borders? Want to get ahead with your veg patch? Then go along to the Horticultural Society Spring plant sale in Bardsey Village Hall on Saturday from 10-11am. Come early for the best bargains including bedding and herbaceous plants, shrubs, seedlings, vegetables and houseplants. Donations of plants welcome at 8.30am. The proceeds help to fund the costs of staging the autumn show. Following your visit to the plant sale do cross the road to the Callister Hall where the bowlingclub is holding its’ annual coffee morning between 9.30am-noon. Stalls will include cakes, honey, homemade preserves, handmade cards, books, jewellery, scarves, handbags and raffle. This is both a social occasion and the main fund raising event for the club. Admission is only £1 to include coffee and biscuit. Do come and join us and, if possible, bring a friend.

East Keswick Wildlife Trust: are organising a wild flower verge walk on Saturday. Join them for a short walk along the moor to appreciate the wild flowers and discuss the Leeds City Council inappropriate cutting times, which is devastating for bees and butterflies. All ages most welcome. Meet at the post office at 2pm.

All Hallows on Sunday: Holy Communion will be led at 8am by Rev Charles Dobbin and at 10.30am by Canon Bryan Ellis.

Bardsey Wives: meet at the home of Brenda Sanderson on Monday evening at 8pm for a catch up and a coffee. Regulars please note change of venue.

Diary date: an evening of flowers and music - Judi Cripps, who is a NAFAS area demonstrator will be giving a floral demonstration entitled Spring Fever on Friday, May 31 in Bardsey Village Hall at 7.30pm. Also appearing will be trumpeter/vocalist Ollie Mulkeen, performing a medley of Rat Pack, Buble and other songs. Tickets cost £10 and include a glass of wine, nibbles and a raffle ticket for the completed flower arrangements. All proceeds to go to Habitat for Humanity, a global re-homing charity.
