BUDDING artists put their talents on show and to critical aclaim.
Tadcaster Art School held its second annual show last week and saw some members rewarded for their efforts.
Reuban Mayne, who leads and supports the art classes, said: “It is very exciting to see such an excellent standard of art on display whether it be the photo realism of James Gray or the fabulous study of a Degas ballerina by Audrey Gill or the emergent natural impressionism of Kathleen Rhodes, to name but a few excellent, developing artists.”
Don Greenwood received the best in show accolade for The Anchor Taverna which was only his second attempt at painting.
The art school starts again on Wednesdays (from September 7) and Fridays (September 16) from 10am at Manor Farm in Tadcaster, on the corner of Joseph’s Street and Leeds road. Also Tadcaster Grammar School is starting up evening classes which includes art.
And there is chance for a second look as some of the students will show their work at Boston Spa village hall on Sunday, September 25.
