Art and flowers for Methodist charities

An Open Art Exhibition is set to go on show in Wetherby Methodist Church Centre in Bank Street on Saturday July 13 from 10am to 4pm.

A large number of local artists, including Clare Dean and Gillian Roberts, will have work on show.

Work will be in a wide variety of media including painting, drawing, photography, textiles, wood and metal.

Also included will be a display of church banners.

The exhibition can be previewed by ticket, £2, on Friday July 12 7.30-9pm. Phone 01937 585036 for tickets.

Proceeds will go to the Reaching Out Further Fund and Special Needs Art Charities.

The church will stage an open gardens event the following day.

Sunday July 14, 2-5pm. Admission £2, accompanied children free. Refreshments, afternoon teas and plants for sale.

Gardens open to the public from 2-5pm on Sunday July 14, are 10 Lazenby Drive; North Croft, Northfield Place; 10 Croft End and 57 Glenfield Avenue.

Admission is £2 and refreshments, afternoon teas and plants will be on sale with proceeds in aid of African Charities.

Volunteers are needed to clean up on August 19.
