An unlikely venue for a lecture. . .

The Rohan outdoor clothing store in Harrogate is to host a series of inspirational lectures every month until Christmas.

The events, which will raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, began this week with a lecture by Sarah Howcroft, who co-founded Rohan at a kitchen table in Skipton over 30 years ago.

The other speakers in the series will be entrepreneur, writer and TV presenter Deirdre Bounds, world class mountaineer Tim Ralph, Rohan’s chairman Colin Fisher, Gil Richardson, a fundraiser who has climbed the highest mountains in Europe, and Andreas Helmer, the mountain guide who went with her.

The lectures are free, with donations for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance collected on the night. Any money raised will be matched by Rohan up to a maximum of £1,500. There will also be 15 per cent off all purchases on the lecture evenings.
