A group of Wetherby school children were visited by a local dentist in Collingham to learn the importance of having healthy teeth as part of National Smile month. A class at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School had a lesson from Dr Greg Cadman of Collingham Dental Care to teach them how to look after their teeth, they learned about tooth decay, what foods contribute to it and how to ensure they avoid the dentist’s drill.
Dr Cadman also gave the children a lesson in how to brush their teeth properly. At the end of the class, the youngsters went away with goody bags of stickers, balloons, advice leaflets, and other things to educate the children to keep their teeth healthy.
Collingham dentist Dr Greg Cadman said “As we only get one set of permanent teeth, it is so important to teach children how to llok after theirs early on. By promoting good oral health care in a fun and interactive way, I hope to encourage more children to look after the tooth fairy”.
