Wetherby teenager 24-hour bakeathon

A teenager from Wetherby will be baking non-stop for 24 hours on her birthday to raise money for charity.

Fran Reeve, 18, of Hunsingore, Wetherby, says she will bake more than 500 individual pieces of cakes to raise money for East African Playgrounds.

The teenager, a Leeds Metropolitan University student, aims to raise £2,000 for the UK-based charity which helps East African children by creating playgrounds and encouraging learning development.

Fran, who is using her home kitchen, says she chose the charity for a number of reasons.

She said: “Play is a really important part of development. East African Playgrounds is a small charity which makes safe play possible by building high quality, creative playgrounds. My Dad was born in Uganda, so when I found out about EAP it seemed a great opportunity to help.” To donate visit http://www.justgiving.com/Fran-Reeve.
