One Way Paradise

(Outwood Academy, Ripon)

One Way Paradise have only been a band for four months but have had many gigs supported by Ripon Youth Centre. They are all year 9 students; Beth Wolfe singing together with Tom Houseman on drums; Katie Chandler on bass guitar; Abbie Langley guitar and vocals.

They love all types of music, but have a slight indie/country fusion to their songs. Their lyrics come from teenage angst and having crazy friends!

This is the first year that Outwood Academy Ripon have had a band enter the competition and they cannot wait for the final!

These Young Sons

(Ripon Grammar School)

These Young Sons are a pop punk band formed in early 2012, made up of four 15 year old guys from the Ripon/Harrogate area.

The band consists of guitarist and vocalist David Bates, bass guitarist Tom Beaumont, drummer Rory Cunningham, and recent addition Zander Paterson, on lead guitar.

‘These Young Sons’ are influenced by a large range of bands, stretching from You Me At Six, to Blink-182, to Foo Fighters.

By mixing together rocky breakdowns and pop punk choruses, These Young Sons create a unique sound that can be enjoyed by all manner of audiences.

They have just completed their first E.P., which is due for release in mid February. These lads have big things planned for 2013, so watch out for them!
