I AM a mother of two children who attend St Edward's Catholic Primary School located on Westwood Way, Boston Spa.

I am aware that Leeds City Council is proposing to have restricted parking on Westwood Way (both sides), Chaly Fields (Southern side)
, Primrose Lane (northern side), Woodlea (both sides) and High Street (southern side), Boston Spa and I wish to lodge a formal objection against this proposal which I find utterly ridiculous and totally unworkable.

The proposal dramatically increases the level of danger to our children two fold.

Firstly, the direct consequence of making Westwood Way a "no waiting at any time" road will simply incite drivers to increase their speed as the route will become a "rat-run" for drivers to and from Boston Spa and the matter of an accident involving one of our children will become an inevitable outcome.

Secondly, the very few options remaining for parents to park their cars elsewhere – one being the north side of the High Street of Boston Spa is also highly dangerous with cars speeding along that road both in and out of Boston Spa with no provisions made whatsoever for crossing the road safely, notwithstanding the fact that this road is already half a mile away from the school.
