Midnight Walk backed by firefighters
A TEAM of Harrogate firefighters are set to join 1,500 local people taking part in the 6.5 mile engage Mutual Midnight Walk, in aid of Saint Michael's Hospice.
The team, from White Watch at Harrogate Fire Station on Skipton Road, will complete the quarter-marathon walk in uniform and will even bring two fire engines to the event, taking place in Harrogate on Saturday July 5.
White Watch Manager Jim Winder said, "As firefighters we're physically fit, so the Midnight Walk is an ideal challenge for us.
"None of us know what the future holds, but having a local hospice that provides excellent end of life services should be security for us all.
"We're proud to support such an important local cause."
Tony Collins, Chief Executive of Saint Michael's said, "We are delighted that Alan and his team will be joining us on the Midnight Walk.
"We all know what a superb job our firefighters do and their enthusiasm to support an event like this is testament to their community spirit."
The White Watch team are the latest group to sign up to take part in the engage Mutual Midnight Walk and Saint Michael's is urging more groups to take up the challenge and register on the Walk before registration closes at the end of May.
