First ever summer show at Henshaws Arts & Crafts

HENSHAWS Arts & Crafts Centre is inviting all artists within the Harrogate postcode to submit their best pieces for its first ever Summer Show.
The Centre often displays work produced on-site in the gallery and café area, but this is the first time it has held an open exhibition.
Entrants of all abilities may send in their work on July 27, 28, and 29. The exhibition, which has no set theme, will run from 2 to 31 August.
Explained Arts & Crafts Centre manager Phill Hopkins: "The Centre provides a safe and stimulating environment where artists who are visually-impaired can produce their work. But it's much more than that – it's an arts hub for the whole community.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for people to show their artworks to the public for four weeks over the summer. People of all abilities, from professionals to beginners, can send in exhibits, and we hope that people from Harrogate and beyond will take advantage of the free admission and enjoy the show."
The Arts & Crafts Centre is currently showing Fruit Salad, a celebration of the vibrant work produced by service-users in the Centre's nine workshops and by students of Henshaws College, who have visual impairments and other disabilities.
Fruit Salad, which is separate from the Summer Show, runs until July 27 and showcases new work, large and small, including paintings, drawings, ceramics and crafts
Artists and makers wishing to submit work for the Summer Show should email exhibitions@henshaws.org.uk for an entry form or call 01423 541 888.
Alternatively, they can write to Claire Smith at Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre, 50 Bond End, Knaresborough, HG5 9AL.
