Burton Leonard and Bishop Monkton YCA
The Burton Leonard and Bishop Monkton Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association met in St. Leonard’s Hall on Thursday afternoon. Christine Irving, in the chair, said that arrangements were going ahead for the summer outing, which would be a trip to Bridgemere Garden World in Cheshire, on May 15. The recent coffee morning at Bishop Monkton had raised £229, and a donation had been sent to the Talking Books charity. Mrs Irving welcomed Mr Harker, who delivered a medley of anecdotes and poems under the heading of ‘Yorkshire Pride’. On June 5 there will be an open meeting in Burton Leonard Village Hall, when there will be a visit from the colourful Dance Kiya from Bali.
