Burton Leonard WI
President, Sheila Peacock welcomed members to the annual meeting in March which was well attended. Birthday posies were made for Bridget Crawshaw, Anne Jesper, Maureen Watson, Hazel Thomas and Carole Pettitt. Two members resigned from the committee i
ncluding our treasurer, Sue Wright, who carried out her duties with great efficiency over the past six years. Lesley Slater was voted on to the committee.

We have a number of scrapbooks dating from the earliest days of Burton Leonard WI and the display attracted great interest. Among our souvenirs we have a number of old framed certificates and photos when our ladies successfully trod the boards at local WI drama festivals. These will be transferred to an album enabling members to look at them more easily.

The next meeting is on Monday, April 21 April at 7.30pm in the village hall when Mrs Karen Crow will demonstrate painting on silk and items will be available to buy.

We are continuing our community walks by going to South Stainley and back, taking about one and a half to two hours. This will be on Monday, April 28, meeting at the village pump at 2pm. These walks are always fun and open to everyone.
