War memorial vandals are a disgrace

IT was with a tears in the eye and feeling sick that I read of the theft of stone paving flags from the War Memorial at North Rigton, with poppies wreaths still in place!
How much lower can our society get? I was not in the forces but have the utmost admiration and respect for the lads who gave their lives in both horrendous wars to defend our freedoms.
When one reads, on nearly a daily basis of yet another young man killed in Afghanistan one has got to seriously question the brains of these yobs.
If caught they should be given a very long spell of hard labour, and sent to Afghanistan, the memory of which will deter them from repeating the desecrating crime again.
