Thanks to community for in Bloom efforts

From: Geoff Humble, Chairman of Wetherby in Bloom.

ON behalf of the Wetherby in Bloom committee I would like to thank all our stalwart helpers who turned out with committee members to sweep the streets the night before Yorkshire in Bloom summer judging last week.

It’s that little bit extra to the support we receive from Leeds City Council in the cleansing and grass cutting areas that makes the difference.

Many people contribute to our In Bloom efforts, for example there are the schools that support the In Bloom competitions organised with the Skipton Building Society, the traders and businesses in the town, those involved in organising the special fundraising coffee morning held in Church Street Scout and Guide hut on Saturday morning, Pullan’s of Sicklinghall and all of our friends, volunteer weeders and waterers, we thank them all. Wetherby in Bloom has always been representative of the community spirit in this town, long may it continue.

We now must wait until September to find out the results of all our efforts but regardless of the outcome we can all be proud of our Wetherby.
