People in North Yorkshire will go to the polls on this Thursday, November 15 to chose the county’s first ever Police and Crime Commissioner.
Voters can choose between Labour candidate Ruth Potter and the Conservatives’ Julia Mulligan for the role which will see the elected commissioner manage police budgets, set priorities, and have the power to hire and fire Chief Constables.

In Harrogate’s Rossett ward voters are also set to choose a new ward councillor for Harrogate Borough Council. A by-election will take place on November 15 following the resignation of ward councillor Michelle Woolley.
