One-way system a simple solution to Westgate issue

From: Mr K H Jackson, High Street, Boston Spa.

REGARDING congestion in Westgate, a relatively simple solution to the interminable problem would be to make a one-way system using the three short sections of Crossley Street (next to Raby Park), Caxton Street, and the northbound section of Westgate in a clockwise direction.

Traffic for the Market Square from Spofforth would bear left into Crossley Street and immediately right at the Wetherby Cinema into Caxton Street, then left into Westgate. Northbound traffic for Spofforth would flow along the short one way section of Westgate to pass the junction with Crossley Street. Effectively the cinema and a handful of properties would be on the newly formed island.

I have tried this and it works perfectly. It is possible that the removal of one or two parking spots would make the flow even better. I suggest that your readers try it and see just how effective it is.
