Council's litter collection claims are simply rubbish

From: Ray Watson, Nunnery Way, Clifford.

I have just read your article on Bin Strikes and the comments made by Leeds City Council.

I live in Nunnery Way, Clifford and the last time our bins were emptied was Friday, September 4, and, in spite of my ringing Leeds Council and giving our postcode as advised by them; this was two weeks ago; we have still not had a bin collection. When I rang again last week all you now get is passed through to a recorded message which then cuts off!

No one will speak to you. I have complained via the council web site and had a reply that says they will reply in 10 working days (six days have now passed). I was told ‘Well you can take your rubbish to the tip yourself’ on the first conversation. I would like to know when we will get our refunds on the already high council tax we are paying?

Empty words are all we get, saying ‘Everyone will get their bins emptied at least every two weeks’ and a quote saying 95 percent of households have had their bins emptied.

Rubbish.
