A children's centre must be for locals

PERHAPS I have missed out on the reason for a children's centre in Boston Spa.
Has research been done on the location of families who are likely to be able to take advantage of this facility.
It does not seem likely to me that Boston Spa, is by any stretch of the imagination, at the centre of an area that would generate enough requests for appointments to justify this centre being established here.
If this building is to service a wide area then the majority of families wishing to take advantage will find it a strain on their budgets to visit here. I notice that the writer of the letter in the Wetherby News dated July 10 is strongly advocating the need for this centre.
Does this mean that it will service North Yorkshire? Recently Boston residents have been expected to provide parking arrangements for people from outside the parish boundary and now we may be expected to provide a centre for services which will mainly be for families from outside the local area.
